I added some fried onions to this too and it tastes amazing, fried them in the pan a little before adding the other ingredients
Mmmmm great idea!!! I shall try this next time! Thanks!! 🙂
I roast the garlick beforehand
That’s a great idea!
After draining the cooked potatoes, old fashion cooks heat the potatoes for a minute or two. This dries the potatoes and makes it easier for the warm milk to be absorbed. Keep the potatoes moving and watch the amount of steam coming off the potatoes. When there is only a little steam (one minute or so), a light film will coat the bottom of the pan. Add the warm milk and beat it in. Keep adding milk in small amounts until the potatoes get creamy. Then add the butter and stir in until it is absorbed. The exact amount of milk depends on the type and age of the potatoes. The amount of butter(and it is best to use real butter) depends on your taste. Be sure to taste the mashed potatoes while mixing so they will be just the way you like them.
Wow thanks so much for the useful tips! 🙂
