There you have it. 3 simple steps to perfect mashed potatoes. Make this for your Thanksgiving dinner and all your family and friends will be asking you what magical ingredient you used???

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! 🙂

  1. After draining the cooked potatoes, old fashion cooks heat the potatoes for a minute or two. This dries the potatoes and makes it easier for the warm milk to be absorbed. Keep the potatoes moving and watch the amount of steam coming off the potatoes. When there is only a little steam (one minute or so), a light film will coat the bottom of the pan. Add the warm milk and beat it in. Keep adding milk in small amounts until the potatoes get creamy. Then add the butter and stir in until it is absorbed. The exact amount of milk depends on the type and age of the potatoes. The amount of butter(and it is best to use real butter) depends on your taste. Be sure to taste the mashed potatoes while mixing so they will be just the way you like them.
