Hit the grill before Summer ends! It is feeling rather chilly in Toronto. I had to pull out my sweater two days in a row! 🙁 For lazy days, a BBQ is the way to go! I realized today that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE CORN AND MUSHROOMS ON THE GRILL!!! It is easier to prepare than meat, too. All I did here is, (wash and dry the corn) spread butter on the corn, sprinkle some sea salt and wrapped them in tin foil. I moved the corn every 2 minutes so it doesn’t burn and it took about 15 minutes for it to be ready. I was super excited to bite into the corn. It was EXTREMELY SWEET and the salt and butter…WOW… SO SOOO GOOD!!!
Aside from the mushroom soup, mushrooms on a grill is my next favourite method of cooking mushrooms. The grill brings out all the flavours. All I use to season the mushrooms are: salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Trust me, that is all you need. Wrap all the mushrooms in tin foil and leave it on the grill for about 10 minutes. They cook very fast. WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE HOW DELICIOUS THESE MUSHROOMS TASTE. I literally devoured them in 1 minute… I actually feel kind of shameful admitting that now. And I would do it again…
Can’t have a BBQ without some kebabs right? I’m keeping this a low key BBQ since it was only my boyfriend and I eating. We just bought beef, washed and dried them with paper towel and squeezed lime juice all over to make it tender. Then, season them with about a teaspoon of:
- salt
- black pepper
- paprika
- chili
- cayenne pepper
- cumin
- turmeric
- garlic powder
- cornstarch (to make meat tender)
- tandoori powder
It is easier to add and mix the spices in the bowl first, before adding the meat.
This part is pretty fun. 🙂
But my favourite part is, of course…. EATING EVERYTHING! I grilled the beef for 5 minutes on each side. The best part about the grill is, all 3 items were being cooked simultaneously! What a time saver!
So get grilling, before summer ends!
